Personal Chef Services

Why use a personal chef?

There are plenty of reasons why more and more people are requesting personal chefs nowadays.  It's an affordable option for those who don't have the time or desire to cook, but don't want to constantly order from restaurants.  Home-cooked food is also healthier than what most restaurants offer, and can be specifically tailored to your dietary needs down to the last detail.  People who benefit our from personal chef services include:

  • Busy professionals
  • New mothers
  • Busy families who want to spend more time together
  • Parents who want to be sure their college-aged children are eating right away from home
  • Those interested in a plant-based diet for health, environmental or ethical reasons
  • People with specific dietary needs
  • Those who would really rather not cook

How does the personal chef service work?

First off, you get in touch with us through email, and then we send you a form with questions to start thinking about, such as what your favorite foods are, what vegetables you like and dislike, et cetera.  We like to give you time to consider the questions so you're not put on the spot.  Then we'll set up a meeting via telephone where we'll talk about those questions, in addition to your dietary goals, if there are any particular menu items you would like to try, payment options, and all of the other fine details.  We'll send you a custom menu based on our phone correspondence for you to approve.

Next, on the scheduled day, we do a grocery shop just prior to arriving at your house, and then show up with the food and our own equipment.  We cook, label, store and package all of the menu items in your kitchen, provide you with detailed (and easy!) reheating and serving instructions, and leave the kitchen spotless when we're done.  Depending on how much food we're making, this can take anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours.

That's it!  You have the option of using our personal chef services on an ongoing basis (usually weekly, bi-weekly or monthly), as well as for one time only.  There's no commitment or obligations.

What packages do you offer?

We offer a variety of packages and can customize them to suit your needs.  Our two-day, four-day and five-day meal plans are as follows:

  • You can add a snack or dessert to this menu for an extra $15 (12 cupcakes, 12 energy bars, etc)

In addition to our meal packages, we also offer special one-time services including:

Date Night ($100)

What it is: a 4-course meal, served in sequence, so you can have a stress-free romantic evening in your home. We talk with you beforehand about your food preferences and customize a menu for you, arrive with groceries and equipment, and work in the background while you enjoy yourself.  We're typically at your home for 2 hours, including prep time at the beginning and clean-up time at the end, so the meal itself usually runs about an hour long.  Please contact us for more information.

Private Cooking Classes ($50 per person, 2 or more people)

What it is: fun, informal cooking instruction in the comfort of your own home.  Makes a great evening with friends!  Choose from our list of cooking classes (under the private cooking classes section).  We arrive at your house with groceries and equipment, give everyone a recipe handout, and teach about 4 dishes (usually an appetizer, soup/salad, entree and dessert), and everyone gets to enjoy eating the meal at the end.  The instruction and eating portion takes approximately 2 hours, and then we'll clean the kitchen while you enjoy the company of your friends or family.  Please contact us for more information.

Parties and Get-Togethers ($40 per person, 3 or more people)

If you love to host parties and get-togethers but don't want to be bothered with preparing food, we can work with you to design a menu to suit your needs.  For a typical small gathering of 3-8 people, we'll prepare 4-5 dishes to be served in sequence, or all at once buffet-style.  For a larger gathering of 9-20 people, more courses will be added and the food will be served buffet-style.  The time it takes us to prepare the food depends largely on the size of the gathering, and a few options are:

  • We can arrive at your house before the guests, and we'll prepare, store and package all of the food, provide you with detailed reheating and serving instructions, and leave the kitchen spotless, all before the guests show up at your door.
  • Prepare food while the guests are at your house so that it's warm, fresh and ready-to-go
  • For smaller gatherings, we can serve the meals in courses just like a restaurant.
